What You Need To Bring & FAQs

Our FAQs

Below you can see answers to frequently asked questions. If you can't find the information you need here, please contact Hillcrest Kennels & Cattery directly.

What You Need To Bring

Please bring your up-to-date vaccination certificates with you for each visit.
If you don't have this, please bring an email from your vet, confirming dates.

Additionally, we must also have a microchip number for each pet boarding with us.

It is a condition of our licence that both of the above are in order.
Regrettably, without them, we are not legally allowed to have your pet to stay.

FAQs

What areas do you cover?
We cover Dorchester, Weymouth, Bridport, Sherborne, Yeovil, Poole and the wider Dorset area.

What vaccination will my pet need?
Your pet will need a yearly booster. Kennel Cough vaccination is also required. On arrival, please bring an up-to-date vaccination certificate so that our records can be updated.

Can I bring in some home bedding and toys whilst my pet is boarding?
We provide a plastic bed, comfy vet bedding and bowls, but we are happy for you to bring some home bedding and toys. However, should they decide to destroy their bedding, we cannot accept responsibility for the damage.

Do you provide food for my pet?
Yes, food is included in the cost of boarding. A range of wet and dry food is available. Alternatively, you are welcome to provide your own - we have a freezer and fridges for storing food. However, we are not able to store or handle raw food, due to an increased danger of cross-contamination.

Are you able to give my pet medication?
Yes, our staff are first aid trained and we are happy to administer medication for your pet, including insulin. However, importantly, please hand us clear written instructions at drop off and discuss your pet's medical needs at the time of booking.

Do you offer a collection and delivery service?
Yes, this service is available for those owners unable, or not wanting to transport their dogs or cats themselves. An additional charge will be levied for this service, depending on the distance.

How long can my pet board with Hillcrest Kennels & Cattery?
We can accommodate short-term and long-term boarding - anything from day care to three months or more, depending on the pet's or owner's needs.
